Read “Mama’s Lil Man:The Raising of a Sonsband” and learn all about the Sonsband Syndrome!!!
Too often, single mothers left to raise children without the aid of fathers go on to raise sons by their idea of what manhood is. Many women suffer from Male Abandonment Syndrome and raise sons that will “never leave” them. This creates a male child that is both a son (being birthed by his mother) and a husband (being his mother’s sole protector and provider in his adulthood). We shall refer to this as “The Sonsband Syndrome”
Being a single mother is hard and no one knows this better than Lisa Jackson, a mother of a hyper-active 7 year old who’s trying desperately to raise him to be a gentleman all while doing everything in her power to exclude his no good, cheating father from his life. Follow the lives of Lisa, Leslie and LJ as they learn the hard way that the “Co” in co-parenting stands for “cooperation”.

As LJ’s teacher, Miss Nikia Buckner, comes in to help remedy the situation, Lisa goes on the defensive almost running over Nikki as she speeds off showing no regard for the masses of children and parents going about.
While visiting the principles office to remove LJ from Miss Buckner’s class, Nikki is intrigued by a proposition from the handsome, and successful principal Dr. Richard Kwame. In exchange for the good doctor’s proposition, Lisa reluctantly agrees and to let LJ remain in Miss Buckner’s class and spend a visit with LJ and his father Leslie Sr. on one of his visits…
Leslie Sr. and LJ plan a great weekend afternoon at the park with one exception: Lisa, LJ’s overbearing mother would be accompanying them. A seemingly wonderful day goes awry and Leslie is left wondering if he’s fighting for a son that has no chance.
